Double your donation: donor matchfunded £350

£2,909 has been raised from 56 donors.

This year, we have seen a record number of sign-ups, bringing an expansion of the club and the introduction of the UYCC’s first ever 4th team. We are raising money to now accommodate four playing squads, upgrading our kit and training facilities, aiming for promotion for all teams and a return to the top flight of northern cricket for the first team.

Our Story

We are the University of York Men’s Cricket Club - providing cricket all year round both indoor and outdoor for all to access. We now have four playing squads thanks to a massive increase in participation in recent years. Since our founding in 1983, we have grown to a club that currently accommodates around 80 regular members, representing York in BUCS all over the north of England.

We are raising money not only to accommodate our new squad and improve kit and facilities, but also to keep growing and allow us to expand our club further. Our recent trend of increasing membership has been welcomed and we are looking forward to seeing this continue in future, pushing the UYMCC to new heights and promotions. This requires year-round training and endless preparation for the season, with this year building for the 1st team to make a push into the top flight of northern university cricket. Everyone at the UYMCC would greatly appreciate any donations you are able to make, it would really support all that play at any level of the club and allow us to keep growing for years to come.

Where will the money go?

This money will mostly go towards providing new facilities for the club on the 22 acres. This will be new sight screens, boundary ropes and nets. As well as this, we are looking to invest in a new coach in order to facilitate the increased training demands of an expanding club. Our overall goal is to raise over £3000 to accommodate these needs, however any donation is greatly appreciated.

Why is this so important?

With this money we will be able to vastly improve facilities and support for the whole club as it grows over the next few years. As mentioned, we have recently started a 4th XI to accommodate for a massive increase in interest over the past few years. In order to support this and enable us to keep growing, we need to be able to fund a whole new squad whilst maintaining the high standards through the rest of the club. We have received great feedback already regarding opening a 4th team, expanding opportunities for everyone who wants to come and play. This expansion has grown us into one of the largest societies at the university, something we are very proud of as we are able to build a great community for not just playing cricket, but also a friendly and supportive environment for all. Your money would go a long way in supporting the growth and success of cricket at York for years to come and any donation is greatly appreciated!
